PROFILE

Kathy Moores Kathy Moores is a qualified British Wheel of yoga teacher and an Ayurvedic Massage, Lifestyle & Nutrition therapist. Ayurveda 'the science of life' and Yoga share a common goal-to enhance the well-being of body, mind and soul. It is said Yoga is for the mind and Ayurveda for the body. Ayurveda uses diet, lifestyle, massage and herbs along with yoga postures, pranayama and meditation as part of a complete holistic healing system.

Kathy fell in love with yoga when she walked into her first yoga class. Her journey to yoga is all too familiar to many after trying all the usual forms of exercise including the gym and aerobics. She was looking for something more and found yoga.

She explains - I came to yoga looking for an alternative form of exercise and found something that was life changing. After that first yoga class I stepped outside and felt so good about myself and thought whatever is happening in my life is not so bad, I can handle it. As the months went by, my body got more flexible, stronger and mentally I felt much more focused.

Yoga has given me an appreciation for being in the moment. We spend so much of our time looking backward thinking if only resulting in negatively looking into the future wishing our lives away, never really enjoying what we have here and now. We are called 'human beings' when we should really be called 'humans doing'. When do we ever just stop, connect to our inner being and simply 'be'.

British Wheel of Yoga trained Kathy has a special love for the subtle breath and energetic flow of Ashtanga, often described as ‘meditation in motion’ as it combines synchronized movements with the breath. To further her understanding of this practice Kathy trained with David Swenson one of the most prominent Ashtanga yoga teachers worldwide. Her commitment to the path of yoga continues to be strengthened and inspired through her studies with some of the some of the world’s most respected yoga teachers.
